Week 5 Waiver Options
Last week went pretty much as expected. Dumpster Fire is now 0-4 and in last place. Rashaad Penny went off, so I guess I should have trusted the projections. š That said, even if I had managed to get him in my lineup, I still would have lost. My first moves this morning were to jettison Javonte Williams and Greg Dortch. With my 2nd (Williams) and 3rd round (Etienne) picks now busts, itāll be a long road to find continued success.
Waiver priority in this league doesnāt reset, so Iām sitting with the 9th priority. Thereās no one worth actually making a claim on and dropping myself to 12th, so Iāll wait until after waivers run and make some transactions in the morning. Iāve started making moves prior to the Sunday kickoff of players I think might be waiver targets on Tuesday. This week I went back to the well for Darnell Mooney, who looks like he might start being productive.
There are three IR spots available, and it doesnāt seem people are taking advantage of using them in this league. Any player who is deemed āoutā for the week qualifies. I used this to move Zay Jones and free up a bench spot for Mooney. At the beginning of the season, I picked up Brian Robinson Jr and stashed him in the IR. If heās still out there, Iād recommend grabbing him as he is expected to be activated for week 5.
Other players Iām looking at this week include following:
George Pickens - WR PIT: Heās shown flashes of brilliance, however, I donāt think Trubisky was really helping. Pickett has been named the new starter, much sooner than I expected. I think theyāll be a great duo, but the upcoming schedule doesnāt look great. Not sure I could play him, but Iād love to have that option.
Tyler Allgeier - RB ATL: Cordarelle Patterson has landed on the IR, so this may not be along term play. I think heās the most talented of the backfield options and put up over 100 yards last week. Even after losing Javonte Williams, I still have plenty of middling RB options, not sure Allgeier is any better.
Nyheim Hines - RB IND: someone dropped him today. Not really sure why, as it looks like Jonathon Taylor is going to miss a few weeks. If he clears, I may take a chance. His schedule is more favorable than Pickens, so I may be able to use him in the flex spot.
I think Iām going to stick with Minnesota in the DST spot, though I am tempted to give Jacksonville a shot as theyāve been hot.
